Job Summary
Lead the commissioning phase of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with schedule and budget. Develop and implement commissioning procedures, plans, and schedules in collaboration with client and design teams. Actively participate in planning and design processes to deliver value for money outcomes and provide critical commissioning input. Develop commissioning budgets and manage time and cost performance of work packs. Provide expert technical advice to the wider Water Services team and oversee testing and validation of systems according to specifications and regulatory standards. Coordinate final handover of commissioned systems to operations teams for smooth transition and operational readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Professional certifications in commissioning
- Leadership qualifications (Frontline Management or the like)
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in commissioning management, preferably within the water industry
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, systems, and equipment
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- In-depth understanding of safety legislation, in particular WHS compliance requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications in commissioning preferred but not essential
- Leadership qualifications (Frontline Management or the like) highly regarded
