Job Summary
Perform scope of work technical reviews, develop commissioning specifications, and create plans, checklists, and tests for collection and control systems. Lead field visits, observe inspections, and direct functional performance tests including NETA, SCADA, and operations verification for mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems. Draft technical documents for issue resolutions and lessons learned, conduct training sessions, and communicate across disciplines to resolve commissioning issues with contractors. Collaborate with the scope team and Project Manager to verify scope intent and criteria while managing team performance and internal meetings. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 10 years of equivalent field experience, with a minimum of six years in construction management or commissioning. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Salary ranges from $125,600 to $188,400, with higher adjustments for Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington D.C.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 10 years of equivalent field experience
- Minimum six years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firm
- Conceptual knowledge of key construction documents and their relationship to Project Management and Field Executions
- Expert understanding of how design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and turnover align within the project delivery process
- Experience with key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)
- Understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and interaction testing and turnover requirements
- Understanding of applicable design codes, design standards, and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them
- Proficiency in the commissioning process, L0-L5, and ability to relate construction deliverables to commissioning deliverables
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project management, and pertinent web applications; strong understanding of data-based commissioning tools like BIM360
- General understanding of building systems across disciplines and fundamental knowledge in at least one discipline such as HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, lighting, instrumentation, and controls, or building envelope systems
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
- Ability to travel up to 50%
