Job Summary
Commissioning Manager leads commissioning activities on a multi-year turn-key construction management contract in the Washington, DC area. Responsibilities include developing testing and commissioning plans, supervising SAT witness and certification, reviewing functional test data, coordinating with construction managers, engineers, and contractors, and mentoring team members. Requires extensive commissioning experience across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems; strong leadership, project coordination, budget and cost estimating capabilities; travel willingness; and the ability to reside in or relocate to the DC metro area. Desirable LEED certification and prior experience as a commissioning lead on large commercial/renovation projects; candidate should have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills and be able to manage relationships with internal/external clients; relocation benefits are available.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering - BS
- Licensed Professional Engineer – Mechanical
- LEED Certification - Desirable
- Experience as a construction project commissioning manager for new commercial construction and renovations project is highly desirable.
- Documented Commissioning Experience as the Commissioning Lead
- Extensive knowledge as it relates to the design and construction of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on a regular basis
- Ability to complete projects quality management in a timely manner
- Good analytical and organizational abilities required to ensure effective quality management and decision making
- Must reside or be able to relocate to the Washington, DC metropolitan area
- Minimum Experience & Skills: Minimum of 15 years working experience with 10 years in construction commissioning and 5 years in managerial role
- Demonstrable experience in the commissioning management of multi-disciplined projects
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and team coordination
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience of Commissioning for O&M documentation and handover
