Job Summary
Lead site Electrical commissioning activities for the client operations business unit, incorporating stakeholder requirements to ensure team success. Manage commissioning risks with the project General Contractor and client teams while ensuring documentation is maintained in the completions database. Monitor quality assurance initiatives for electrical systems installation, alignment, and integrity. Review commissioning plans against client specifications and local codes, then represent the client during design reviews. Execute verification checklists, test procedures, and job walks to support field execution. Attend commissioning meetings to resolve issues and report weekly to the client Operations team. Follow EHS guidelines and site safety requirements throughout construction and acceptance of facilities electrical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related subject from an accredited university
- 7+ years of experience in leading electrical systems construction and commissioning operations
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience in CSA engineering with commissioning experience
- High-voltage electrical commissioning experience (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, substations)
- Experience leading electrical commissioning teams and third-party testing providers
- Strong technical knowledge of construction completion, testing, and energization procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems during startup and commissioning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to understand complex problems and distil the message into a clear plan
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
- Strong background in all aspects of electrical requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical single lines, schematics, panel layouts, and P&IDs
- expert knowledge of electrical generation (generator) and distribution systems on a large-scale build, including all testing requirements
- Semiconductor/Datacenter or advanced technology industry experience is preferred but not essential
- Travel duration, if any, is based on project location
- This position is a safety-sensitive position
- The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction commissioning activities
- OSHA 10 – preferred and experience in LOTO procedures
