Commissioning Intern

Job Summary
Conduct on-site inspections, factory witness testing, and startup observations for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems. Set up test equipment, troubleshoot components, and assist senior team members in developing commissioning plans and functional performance test scripts. Review shop drawings, submittals, and sequence of operations while preparing pre-functional checklists and project progress reports. Manage personal hours using company tools and ensure compliance with safety and reporting standards under immediate supervision. Travel up to 75% domestically; valid driver's license and REAL ID required. Obtain NFPA 70E or OSHA certifications as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport)
- Ability to obtain NFPA 70E / OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications as required
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls system principles
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Exceptional organizational skills for file management
- Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
- Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
- Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be located near a major airport
- Must be available for up to 75% domestic travel
- Must be available for potential relocation
- Must be available for potential international travel based on project needs and skillset development
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification or relevant coursework in engineering, electrical, or mechanical fields
