Job Summary
Hands-on commissioning of uncrewed maritime platforms, including mechanical assembly checks and electrical testing, sensor calibrations and system diagnostics to ensure mission readiness. Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to fault-find and repair complex systems, support active sea trials, and follow strict quality gate procedures. Maintain wiring standards for internal systems and control units. Based at the Camber in Portsmouth with on-water testing and occasional travel; standard Monday-to-Friday week with occasional weekend work during busy trial periods.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical) or an equivalent vocational qualification.
- Proven track record in a hands-on technical role within the maritime or robotics industry.
- Ability to work safely and effectively on the water during platform testing.
- Significant experience as a bench technician working with maritime, robotic, or highly complex engineering systems.
- Working across hydraulic, electric and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
