Job Summary
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of protective relay equipment, powerline carrier systems, and remote terminal units. Lead daily job hazard analyses and promote safe working practices while performing functional testing for transmission lines, HV buses, and transformer circuitry. Execute end-to-end testing of communication tripping schemes using RTS, ProTest, or Protection Suite software, and document test reports for client and regulatory compliance. Interpret complex wiring diagrams and maintain assigned company vehicle. Provide oversight to protection and control technicians for HV utility and power generation clients.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in the electrical testing industry
- focus working with protection and control equipment
- HV utility, co-op, power generation, federal, or municipal clients
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Proven experience with transmission and distribution relays
- SEL, GE, ABB, and Westinghouse
- Familiarity with test equipment
- Doble 6150

- Vanguard CT 2000C
- Omicron CT analyzer
- Experienced in using test software
- RTS

- Experienced in developing detailed commissioning test plans
