Job Summary
Lead and supervise the testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and BESS power distribution equipment. Oversee NETA-based testing such as Megger, VOC, VLF, and TTR while ensuring accuracy and compliance in performance validation. Manage startup, energization, and complex troubleshooting of AC and DC components, providing technical guidance to field technicians on solar and BESS sites. Review electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams to verify installation quality and resolve critical engineering issues. Coordinate with construction leads, SCADA teams, and utility partners to ensure seamless system integration. Review and finalize commissioning documentation, test results, and turnover packages to meet project milestones. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes, and LOTO procedures across the team. Assist the Commissioning Director in resource planning, scheduling, and progress reporting for multiple project sites.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior technical role commissioning electrical systems within solar, BESS, or utility/industrial sectors
- Advanced knowledge of electrical testing methods, specialized equipment, and NETA standards
- Strong ability to interpret control logic, advanced technical drawings, and protective relay settings
- Demonstrated experience in field execution management including troubleshooting, team coordination, and project reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage subcontractor relationships and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across multiple states
