Job Summary
Facilitate fun, safe, and engaging programs for Justice National Scout Camp guests by providing leadership, maintaining camp areas, and delivering front-line customer service. Support base camp operations, lead camp-wide activities, and serve as a resource for programming and Summit operations. Create trainings for adult leaders, manage payments in purchasing software, and model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while performing additional duties assigned by SBR leadership. Work 50+ hours daily, standing, walking, hiking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Live in a staff tent near New River Gorge National Park.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Previous Scouting and customer service experience
- Valid driver license and ability to obtain a Summit Driving permit
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike, up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using Black Pug software is considered a plus
- High-level emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
