Job Summary
Commis 1 - Sushi needed to join the culinary team at a prestigious 5-Star Luxury Hotel in the UAE. Responsibilities include preparing sushi and sashimi according to traditional techniques and hotel standards, maintaining the sushi station, upholding food safety and hygiene, assisting in inventory and proper storage of fish and ingredients, collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver timely and excellent service, and continuously developing skills in Japanese culinary arts.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Commis 1 or relevant role specializing in sushi preparation, preferably within luxury hotel or fine dining environment
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for culinary excellence and eagerness to learn
- Must be currently in UAE
