Job Summary
Commis 1 in Main Kitchen handles meal preparation and food production to specification, including regulating oven and equipment temperatures, thawing and portioning, maintaining food logs, and communicating with service staff on menu items and specials. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking according to recipes and quality standards, ensuring presentation, quality, and safety, and supporting the team during busy periods. The role also involves assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees; enforcing safety policies, reporting maintenance needs, and upholding confidentiality and company assets. Must be able to stand for extended periods and move objects up to 25 pounds; includes ability to follow safety trainings and certifications and collaborate with others to meet quality and guest-service goals. Education preferred is a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree; at least 3 years of related experience; no supervisory experience required.
