Job Summary
Stand and exceed customer and team member expectations by communicating effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors while adhering to hotel policies and hygiene standards. Monitor kitchen cleanliness, prepare working stations and mise en place per daily requirements, control portion sizes and presentation, and make full hand-overs to the responsible supervisor. Assist the Chef de Partie in duties, carry out assigned management tasks, and ensure all staff follow set-up protocols. Report for duty punctually in uniform. Previous culinary experience and a bachelor's or diploma in Culinary are required. This Commis 1 role is for Mercure Abu Dhabi Downtown.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in the Culinary field
- Bachelors or diplomas/certifications in Culinary
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
