Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day activities of a team of Underwriters, overseeing title professionals and support personnel while providing direct and indirect supervision. Provide underwriting support and expertise related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies, utilizing standards within delegated authority limits. Lead project reviews, approve designs and cost estimates, and participate in long-range departmental planning. Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and make hiring and compensation recommendations. Collaborate with Senior and Executive Management on operational decisions and navigate sensitive situations. Hybrid schedule in Tampa or Orlando, FL. Juris Doctor preferred; 5–7 years of directly related experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor preferred
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5–7 years of directly related experience in the title industry
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred
- Demonstrated success designing, developing, and executing complex projects within a functional area of expertise
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with management across functional groups and business units
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to gain buy-in and navigate sensitive situations while maintaining positive working relationships
- Ability to communicate a clear vision, establish aligned goals, and create systems to measure results
- Understanding of competitor, financial, and industry dynamics
- Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining talent while fostering accountability, collaboration, and effective change management
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service by managing expectations, soliciting feedback, and ensuring commitments are met
- Strong communication, presentation, listening, and negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate with leaders to identify and implement solutions that support business effectiveness
