Job Summary
Conduct financial analysis and risk assessment for the commercial credit portfolio, including Specialty Credit, Asset Based Lending, and Structured Finance Lending. Review and analyze commercial loan requests to assess client creditworthiness and structure proposals in accordance with Bank lending policy. Prepare Credit Memos for new, renewal, and modification requests, and attend loan committee meetings to present approval requests. Maintain ongoing communication with Relationship Managers and Business Unit Managers regarding transaction status and risk ratings. Provide guidance and training to junior underwriters while supporting the client annual review process and periodic portfolio reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
- Up to five (5) years of credit underwriting experience
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts
- Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and techniques including the ability to spread financial statements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Position located in Cincinnati, OH office; however, depending on internal experience, this position could be remote in another FFB office location
- Ability to move within an office environment
- Ability to lift and carry light objects, typically up to 10-15 pounds
- Clear and effective communication in person and over the phone
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Bannockburn, Asset Based Lending, Structured Finance Lending, ESOP Lending and Large Corporate Lending
- Experience with foreign exchange, commodity, and interest rate derivative credit requests
- Experience assessing private equity funds
- Experience handling client credit exposure size from $5.0 -$100.0 million
- Experience preparing Credit Memos for new, renewal and modification requests and client annual reviews
- Experience attending loan committees
- Experience leading in the preparation of periodic portfolio reports
- Experience managing the ongoing existing client annual review pipeline
- Experience providing guidance and training to junior underwriters
