Job Summary
Drive a tractor-trailer or heavy truck (26,001+ lbs GVW) to transport finished goods and raw materials between manufacturing plants, retail centers, and distribution hubs. Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, check loads for damage, and count all goods to verify delivery invoices. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while documenting work/rest periods and miles. Comply with federal and state driving rules, including size, weight, and break regulations. Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately. Collect and verify delivery instructions, manage returned goods pickups, and maintain a clean cab. Ensure a professional appearance when interacting with customers as part of the sales team. Submit to background and drug checks.
Required Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Commercial Truck Driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid commercial driving licence
- Current D.O.T physical
- Clean-cut appearance
- Willingness to get along well with customers
- Willingness to submit to background/drug checks
- Willingness to provide employment recommendations
