Commercial Tire Technician

Job Summary
Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on commercial and large equipment tires in shop or at customer locations per TIA Commercial guidelines. Safely separate and reassemble tires, inspect casings for defects, and locate punctures using patch and plug methods. Prepare rims and wheel drums by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting before reassembly. Drive service trucks to customer sites for road service and raise/lower vehicles safely with hydraulic or floor jacks. Operate shop machinery including safety cages, spreaders, balancers, and torque tools while reading work orders thoroughly. Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned. Work 8a-5p M-F with overtime flexibility in non-climate controlled environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years' experience in passenger or commercial tire repair
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DOT physical (for service trucks)
- TIA Commercial 200 Level
- Able to operate all diagnostics and alignment equipment
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds from ground to chest high
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves, safety harnesses, proper footwear)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
- Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems

- Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety
- Employee must be flexible on scheduled hours realizing that business hours are dictated by customer needs and can run past scheduled ending times or start before scheduled beginning times
