Job Summary
Commercial Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of garage door products, dock equipment, and related systems at Cheney Door Company in Dodge City, KS. Duties include installing garage door products per manufacturer specs, basic diagnostic and troubleshooting, identifying and repairing mechanical and electrical failures, performing preventive maintenance, maintaining necessary paperwork, and upholding a safe work environment. Preferred qualifications include welding, OSHA 10, first aid, CPR, basic knowledge of construction and hand tools, mechanical inclination, and strong problem-solving, attention to detail, customer service orientation, adaptability, and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Work conditions include a non-climate-controlled environment with potential exposure to all weather conditions; physical ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 5+ years’ experience in garage door service/installation or a similar skilled trade
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Must have an acceptable MVR to be added to our auto insurance policy
- Must have dependable, reliable transportation to and from your base office location
