Job Summary
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC equipment such as chillers and ancillary components (pumps, cooling towers, split systems, package units, boilers). Lead and mentor technicians, with working knowledge of air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment, VFDs, motor starters, and hydronic/ boiler systems. Maintain safety, PPE compliance, and company property; inventory and procure parts; communicate professionally with customers; flexible hours and on-call as needed. Requires 10+ years HVAC experience, EPA license, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude. Location-based responsibilities centered in Austin, TX.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HVAC with technical training certification required
- Valid EPA Universal License (EPA) for handling and installing refrigerant
- Refrigerant system skills including piping installation, evacuation, and charging of all refrigerant type systems
- Experience starting and commissioning HVAC equipment such as chillers, pumps, and air handling units
- Strong mechanical skills and proficiency with micrometers and measuring tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office and field laptop use to interface with microprocessors
- Ability to work in varied environments and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to climb ladders and access attics/basements/crawl spaces
- Ability to stand/walk, lift up to 75 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
