Job Summary
Provide tire-related services in-store and at customer locations, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, repairs, and roadside assistance for commercial and light-duty vehicles. Perform fleet checks, pressure adjustments, and repairs while conducting daily vehicle inspections and ensuring lug nuts are tightened to proper torque specifications. Operate company vehicles, impact guns, air compressors, and boom trucks safely, responding to after-hours and on-call roadside requests as scheduled. Accurately complete work orders, verify customer credit, and manage inventory using software systems like Toolbox and Basys. Maintain vehicle appearance, safety materials, and fuel receipts for processing while documenting inspections and casing write-ups. Ensure DOT and ELD compliance and match tire sets correctly for proper wear alignment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years
- DOT Driver Qualification file (q-file) and Medical Certification
- TIA Certification
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Attention to details
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer and software skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to look up fluid volumes for tire size
- Ability to operate tools and equipment such as impact guns, air compressors, hub-cap hammers, and boom trucks safely and effectively
- Ability to conduct daily vehicle inspections
- Ability to operate company vehicles
- Ability to maintain compliance with DOT and ELD requirements
- Ability to accurately complete work orders, service tickets, and invoices
- Ability to verify customer credit and make necessary billing adjustments
- Ability to assist in inventory management by using company software systems (e.g., Toolbox, Basys) including scanning, transferring, and returning items
- Ability to initiate purchase orders for parts
- Ability to update information on the computer and maintain records/files for follow-up
- Ability to document fleet inspections, casing write-ups, barcode scanning, and all account-required images or forms
- Ability to maintain vehicle appearance, safety materials, and fuel receipts for company processing
- Ability to ensure lug nuts are tightened to proper torque specifications
- Ability to match tire sets correctly, ensuring proper placement and wear alignment
- Ability to respond to after-hours and on-call roadside service requests as scheduled
- Ability to perform all tire-related services (mounting, dismounting, fleet checks, pressure adjustments, and repairs) on-site or at customer locations
- Ability to deliver top-tier service to customers through timely follow-ups, issue resolution, and proactive communication
- Ability to operate company service vehicles and boom trucks
- Ability to operate tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools
- Ability to use protective gear (PPE)
- Ability to work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments
- Ability to work with frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
- Ability to work with frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift over 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to use hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
- Ability to engage in constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication
- Ability to work occasional shift work and extended days
