Job Summary
Lead day-to-day operations of a commercial trailer and fleet maintenance shop; oversee technicians, shop productivity, compliance programs, and daily shop operations in a fast-paced transportation environment. Responsibilities include monitoring shop KPIs, financial performance, labor costs, and P&L; reviewing repairs, inspecting completed work, and ensuring quality standards; maintaining a safe, compliant shop aligned with OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA; optimizing technician workflow, turnaround times, and labor efficiency; partnering with operations and sales to support growth and customer retention; preparing estimates, repair quotes, and work orders for fleet customers; coordinating preventive maintenance to maximize uptime; developing staffing schedules, training plans, and performance management initiatives; overseeing inventory control, vendor relationships, and cost management; and serving as the primary liaison among technicians, operations, drivers, fleet customers, and administrative staff.
