Job Summary
Prepare timely, competitive, and executable estimates for commercial roof repairs and service projects by reviewing field reports, photos, measurements, and specifications to determine project scope. Conduct occasional site visits to evaluate roof conditions, access, and equipment needs, then obtain material pricing from vendors to identify cost-effective solutions. Manage assigned estimates and follow-ups using Excel, estimating software, and CRM systems while coordinating with sales, roof technicians, customers, and operations throughout the process. Complete project handoff documents, attend preconstruction meetings, and assist with change-order pricing to ensure consistent follow-through on 10–15 weekly estimates. Primarily office-based with occasional local job-site visits, this role supports Don Kennedy Roofing's expansion in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Construction, roofing, field service, or estimating experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Strong math, writing, critical-thinking, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Windows, and electronic file management.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to climb ladders, access commercial roofs, work at heights, and occasionally work outdoors in hot or cold conditions.
Desired Qualifications
- One to three years of commercial roofing or construction estimating experience.
- Knowledge of low-slope commercial roofing systems and repair methods.
- Experience with The EDGE, Dataforma, ServiceTitan, or similar estimating and CRM software.
- Experience preparing proposals, RFIs, change orders, or project handoff documentation.
