Job Summary
Cover roofs with TPO, EPDM, PVC, and related materials while spraying sidings and walls to bind, seal, or insulate structures. Supervise and mentor laborers and roofers daily, driving the company vehicle to multiple job sites. Review shop drawings and job files to plan labor projections, material needs, and delivery schedules. Ensure proper safety equipment is used, coordinate toolbox talks, and maintain strict job site cleanliness. Monitor material inventory, manage equipment maintenance, and prepare daily job reports, timesheets, and punch lists. Train subcontractors and coach employees to meet quality and production goals while evaluating performance against safety and budget standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- 3+ years of commercial roofing experience
- Driver's License Required with clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check for high security clearance
- Knowledge of safety techniques and procedures to set up a safety plan including toolbox talks, safety huddles
- Ability to read shop drawings, reproduce manufacturing details, and layout roofs and walls
- Knowledge of how to cut, shape, fit, join, and install edge metal, insulation, ice & water shields, wood, or other construction materials
- Ability to read and use tape measure, mark, or record distances
- Knowledge of how to install pipe boots, ridge/hip caps, rake, nail base, valley, eave lock, and ice & water shield
- Knowledge of how to install counter flashing, coping, fascia, gutters, miters, downspouts, roof curbs, flat lock, and thru-wall flashing
- Knowledge of how to install crickets, chimney flashing, curbs, and how to make seaming and horizontal and vertical soldering
- General knowledge of construction materials and tools involved in the assembly, installation, or repair of roofing structures
- Ability to fulfill paperwork requirements: timesheets, shop requisitions, and job reports
- Interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to work on a team and take corrective action when necessary
- Ability to train and supervise the crew and subcontractors as needed in order to meet the quality and production goals
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute work assignments
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions in order to accomplish work in a timely manner
- Ability to use oral or written communication to convey information effectively
- Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
