Commercial Risk Analyst

Job Summary
Lead underwriting and adjudication of multifamily mortgage applications, analyzing borrower strength, property performance, and market conditions. Develop credit recommendations and approval packages to support informed decisions; monitor and manage a multifamily mortgage portfolio; track portfolio risk exposures and trends. Act as a key liaison with CMHC to ensure compliance with insured lending and securitization requirements. Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to execute transactions and contribute to process improvements that enhance underwriting quality and client experience. Requires an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics, or related field, 7–10 years of experience in commercial lending or real estate finance, strong financial analysis and modelling skills, and knowledge of CMHC-insured lending programs; professional designations (CFA, CPA, AACI) are assets. Hybrid work model.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in commercial lending, credit adjudication, or real estate finance
- Demonstrated experience underwriting multifamily residential transactions
- Strong understanding of CMHC-insured lending programs and securitization processes
- Advanced financial analysis and modelling capabilities
