Job Summary
Commercial Refrigeration Technician responsible for powering up, testing, and commissioning new commercial refrigeration systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Work independently in the field and collaborate with installation crews, controls technicians, and project managers. Hands-on with rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and associated control systems; read blueprints and wiring diagrams; perform pressure and leak tests, electrical checks, and refrigerant charge adjustments; troubleshoot start-up issues across electrical, piping, and mechanical components; document commissioning data and punch-list items; travel regionally to job sites (Orlando, FL) with some nights, on-call responsibilities, and per diem provided. EPA 608 certification required; 2+ years of relevant experience; valid driver’s license; strong knowledge of refrigeration components and control systems; ability to verify systems meet manufacturer specifications prior to turnover; participate in a smooth transition to service and maintenance teams.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of commercial refrigeration installation, service, or start-up experience
- Strong knowledge of rack refrigeration, condensers, evaporators, and controls
- Ability to troubleshoot and tune superheat, subcooling, airflow, and refrigerant charge
- Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- EPA 608 Certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel regionally to job sites (per diem provided)
