Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Job Summary

Lead the start-up and commissioning of new refrigeration systems, including parallel racks and single systems, ensuring proper pressure testing and evacuation procedures are followed. Direct and guide team members on project tasks such as line set routing and component installation while collaborating with Project Managers and General Contractors to ensure successful project completion. Interpret technical documents including blueprints, floor plans, and wiring schematics to execute installations for walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and custom built-in refrigeration for kitchens, bars, and warehouses. Provide ongoing technical support for troubleshooting and resolving issues on problematic systems between projects, including inspecting and verifying wiring and programming for Energy Management Systems.

Required Qualifications

  • EPA Type II or Universal certification
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License in good standing, eligible for coverage under the Company's insurance carrier
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs. and comfort working on ladders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with commercial equipment installation
  • Walk-in evaporators and condensing units
  • Ice machines
  • Parallel rack systems
  • Walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Performing system start-up for walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and parallel rack systems
  • Constructing walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines
  • Diagnosing and resolving performance issues with walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and parallel rack systems
  • Installation, diagnosis, and repair of other commercial cooking equipment
  • 90% of our work is outside the Tucson Metro Area, so travel IS absolute
  • Occasional mandatory evening, weekend, and on-call work hours
  • Travel to job sites is required throughout Arizona and other states
  • Overtime is available, based on workload

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of construction experience
  • Experience in both plumbing and electrical work
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus
  • Ability to obtain an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
