Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician

Job Summary
Respond to service calls and perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and compressor rebuilds on industrial refrigeration systems. Conduct hot and cold compressor alignments, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical controls using PLCs and diagnostic equipment, and perform leak tests on refrigeration lines. Install expansion valves, wiring, and control components while maintaining truck inventory and completing work orders in SimPRO. Participate in overtime, on-call rotations, and flexible scheduling to meet customer needs. EPA 608 Certification required with 2+ years of HVACR experience; ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Trade school education or equivalent hands-on experience in refrigeration, HVACR, mechanical systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of HVACR, commercial refrigeration, or related industry experience
- EPA 608 Certification required
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in field environments with exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying environmental conditions
- Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call schedules
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred but not required
- RETA CARO Certification preferred but not required
- Experience servicing industrial refrigeration systems and compressors preferred
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, synthetic refrigerants, refrigeration controls, PLCs, and microprocessors preferred
- Experience with compressor maintenance, rebuilds, and alignments
