Job Summary
VP, Commercial Real Estate Underwriting to support underwriting, structuring, and execution of CRE loan opportunities. Responsibilities include underwriting and evaluating new CRE financing opportunities, preparing credit memoranda, financial models, sensitivity analyses, and transaction summaries; analyzing borrower/sponsor strength, property performance, market conditions, collateral, and deal structure; reviewing diligence materials (financial statements, rent rolls, appraisals, market data, third-party reports, legal documentation); coordinating with internal teams through underwriting, approval, closing, and post-closing; working with borrowers and external parties to gather information and support transaction execution; identifying key risks and mitigants for each transaction; and maintaining accurate underwriting files. Target background requires 8-10+ years of CRE underwriting/credit lending experience, strong Excel-based modeling, familiarity with CRE underwriting tools and market research platforms, ability to evaluate credit quality and deal economics, plus strong communication skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of commercial real estate underwriting, credit, or lending experience
- Experience underwriting CRE loans across multiple property types and transaction structures
- Strong Excel-based financial modeling skills
- Familiarity with CRE underwriting tools and market research platforms
- Ability to evaluate credit quality, structure, risk, and deal economics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
