Job Summary
Underwrite and manage all types of CRE credit exposure for a middle-market portfolio across the western U.S. (including CA); partner with Relationship Managers to support new business development, retain relationships, and expand customer relationships; collect borrower financial statements and coordinate spreading with internal credit support teams; monitor loan covenants and perform quarterly trend analysis for 15–20 loans plus annual reviews; manage active construction loans with monthly monitoring and project updates; assist with new money requests including pre-flight vetting, market analysis, and credit structuring discussions; prepare clear, concise written credit analyses and present recommendations to credit approval partners; collaborate with Loan Administration on loan documentation for approved and renewed credits; participate in client outreach and joint calls as a secondary contact; respond to credit questions and make independent credit calls within assigned authority; location expectations require working from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Five to seven years of commercial banking experience
- Commercial real estate lending or underwriting experience (preferred, not required)
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending policy, credit quality standards, and applicable laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively across teams to manage customer relationships
- Well-developed written communication and verbal presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office (nCino, Copilot preferred)
