Job Summary
Conduct reviews and draft heads of agreement, leases, and subleases for landlord and tenant clients. Perform due diligence lease reviews for M&A transactions and analyze lease portfolios for assignments and change of control provisions. Assist with complex lease negotiations and provide advice on retail lease legislation and broader property laws. Manage client leasing portfolios and offer strategic guidance while staying current with legislative and market practice changes. Liaise regularly with clients as their key point of contact and collaborate with colleagues on disputes and acquisitions. Based in Sydney or remote within Australia, this senior role involves supervising junior lawyers and requires 5+ years of commercial property experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial property and leasing in a recognised firm or in-house legal team
- Unrestricted practising certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusted relationships with highly sophisticated clients
- Practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to work autonomously
