Job Summary
Manage commercial property claims via telephone and text, investigating, negotiating, and settling cases while confirming coverage and compiling FNOL information. Quantify loss and expense using vendor data and cost-saving guidelines without compromising customer service, ensuring accurate payment issuance to vendors and insureds. Provide in-depth guidance on claim status, review policy and technical reports, and recognize subrogation or risk opportunities. Create critical paths, proof of loss letters, and reservation of rights documents while maintaining data accuracy and adhering to claim procedures. Support high-volume catastrophe responses during evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ Years of property claims experience
- Minimum of 1 Year experience handling first-party commercial claims including but limited to building owner/tenant, business income, stock, cargo, builder's risk, crime and equipment claims for a wide variety of industries
- A customer focused mindset with a strong commitment to delivering timely, fair, and professional claims service
- Must be willing to pursue CIP for provincial licensing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand
- High level of comfort dealing directly with key commercial clients and brokers on all claim related issues and other assistance as required
- Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Guidewire
- High level of prioritization and organization skills
- Think critically and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure you receive the best outcomes
- You are hardworking and a self-motivated problem-solver
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces (not a requirement, but expected to apply once in role)
- Assist and support during high volume catastrophes as needed (Evenings and Weekends)
Desired Qualifications
- CIP or FCIP and other industry designations preferred
