Job Summary
Commercial Parts Pro role is a full-time sales/leadership position focused on profitable growth of the commercial automotive parts business through customer retention and new business, partnering with the GM to manage Team Members. Responsibilities include maintaining commercial customer relationships, executing GAS2 selling to commercial customers, achieving personal/store sales goals, dispatching drivers to ensure timely deliveries, maintaining commercial stocking programs, and collaborating on coaching and development of Team Members. Essential skills include strong communication, automotive systems and parts knowledge, ability to source from multiple channels (special orders, FDO, second source), inventory management, experience with POS and parts lookup systems, ASE certification (preferred), and the ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals, plus proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel and basic math for pricing and profitability. The role may require day, evening, and weekend work, with a focus on safety and customer service; the posting notes that the position is eligible for sales commissions and that Advance Auto Parts is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- ASE certification preferred but not required
- 3 years of automotive parts experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; ability to write simple correspondence
- English; Spanish a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of inventory and POS systems
- Ability to supervise daily tasks and coach team members
