Job Summary
Perform surface preparation, caulking, drywall patching, mixing paints, setting up and cleaning equipment. Techniques include pressure washing and brushing, rolling, spraying, and fine-finishing using architectural applications. Operate spray and pressure washing equipment; select and mix paints per pre-determined formulas; set up and safely use rigging, scaffolds, and ladders. Must have 3+ years of professional commercial painting experience, a valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record, and be able to pass drug screens. Must be able to read and interpret manuals and other documents, have basic math and reading/writing skills, and be a self-motivated team player. Work outdoors year-round, with exposure to various conditions; comply with safety practices and maintain equipment and work area. Must pass an annual pulmonary exam to wear a respirator and lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and operate heavy machinery as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Pass an entry drug screen and all subsequent drug tests during employment
- At least 3 years’ experience as professional commercial painter
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling practices and techniques
- Possess basic mathematical skills as well as adequate reading and writing skills
- Able to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Possess basic knowledge of application techniques
- Possess basic knowledge of appropriate uses for commonly used paints and thinners
- Must be self-motivated with good initiative and flexibility
- Must be able to work well as a team player and interact well within a group
