Job Summary
Commercial Outside Salesperson responsible for driving sales growth by developing and maintaining relationships with commercial contractors, developers, and construction professionals. Identify project opportunities through industry networks, bid platforms, and direct outreach; collaborate with internal estimating, purchasing, and logistics teams to deliver accurate quotes and proposals. Represent a wide range of building materials including doors, frames, hardware, trusses, windows, millwork, framing packages, and specialty products. Stay informed on market trends and product knowledge to provide value-added insight; attend job site meetings and industry events; maintain CRM records and sales reports. Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales goals set by management.
Required Qualifications
- Proven success in outside sales, preferably in commercial construction or building materials
- Strong understanding of construction processes, material specifications, and project lifecycles
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools; experience with estimating software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years in commercial building materials sales or related construction industry experience
- Knowledge of Division 6, 8 and 10 materials (doors, frames, hardware, specialties)
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and construction documents
- Proven success in outside sales, preferably in commercial construction or building materials
