Job Summary
Commercial Origination and Development Manager responsible for originating, structuring, contracting, and advancing CCS and power-related opportunities from concept through execution. Lead cross-functional teams, identify commercial structures (PPAs, tolling, interconnection, and other carbon-management agreements), monitor market and regulatory trends (EPA Class VI, 45Q, LCFS, CARB, CAISO, FERC, CPUC), and coordinate with engineering, land, regulatory, finance, legal, and operations to achieve investment-ready project milestones. Strong emphasis on power-sector and power-adjacent opportunities, including CCS retrofits, greenfield generation with CCS, BECCS, and decarbonization projects, with responsibilities spanning origination, market development, commercial strategy, site control, permitting, development planning, and management presentations. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 7+ years in energy, ability to manage multiple workstreams, and regular travel; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited university required
- 7+ years of experience in the energy industry
- Experience in power development, power markets, commercial contracting, CCS, energy infrastructure, or related sectors preferred
- Direct experience with power project development, PPAs, interconnection, and market exposure preferred
- Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage commercial opportunities
- Regulatory knowledge across EPA Class VI, 45Q, CARB, LCFS, CAISO, FERC, CPUC, CAEP, and related processes
- Travel readiness on a monthly basis or as needed
