Job Summary
Commercial Office Maintenance Technician role (Part-Time, Entry-Level) supporting the Facilities Manager in a commercial office building. Responsibilities include assisting with daily maintenance and repairs, basic cosmetic drywall work (paint touch-ups, patching), caulking and replacing ceiling tiles, minor plumbing (drain clogs, restroom fixtures under supervision), basic electrical tasks (changing light bulbs, ensuring emergency lights function), responding to maintenance requests, inspections of building systems, and organization of maintenance closets and tools. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic hand/power tool familiarity, ability to pass a background check, clean driving record, strong mechanical aptitude, reliable communication, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders. Training provided; hours are 10am-2pm for part-time (9am-5pm operations).
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Limited prior professional experience - experience with basic hand/power tools from hobbies, school, or home projects is a big plus!
- Ability to pass background check
- Clean driving record
- Must be comfortable and safe while using basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers) and power tools (drills, saws)
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to follow directions carefully
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and tenants
- A strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning how things work
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel for extended periods
- Comfortable working on a ladder
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Part-time, non-exempt
- Flexible schedule of approximately 15-25 hours per week
