Job Summary
Maintain knowledge of Caterpillar/Empire Allied machinery and diagnose/repair heavy equipment systems (diesel, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, powertrain). Provide service, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair for malfunctions; evaluate root causes using failure analysis and schematics; communicate effectively with customers and management; maintain CDL and safety standards; operate with tools and knowledge of FMCSR/DOT requirements; travel to remote locations as needed; participate in training and complete required paperwork and inspections. Strong proficiency in hydraulics, electronics, powertrain, engines, and emissions systems, with experience in dealership environments and the ability to rebuild/repair machinery; maintain up-to-date documentation and a customer-focused approach.
Required Qualifications
- Six months of related experience
- English proficiency
- Ability to complete skills assessment (eTRAIN)
- Valid driver’s license
- Own and maintain personal tools
- Strongly preferred: five years heavy equipment technician experience, Caterpillar experience, hydraulics/electrical/powertrain/engines/tier IV, warranty, etc.
