Job Summary
Install metal roofing systems including standing seam, snap lock, mechanically seamed, and exposed fastener panels on commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Fabricate and install drip edge, gutters, downspouts, fascia, soffit, coping caps, counter flashing, ridge caps, valley metal, and custom sheet metal trim. Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand and power tools while reading blueprints and manufacturer specifications. Repair leaks, install sealants and underlayments, and troubleshoot existing systems. Operate ladders, scaffolding, and lifts safely at heights while ensuring all work complies with OSHA standards and company policies. Maintain tools and work areas in clean condition. Complete work in a productive and timely manner under varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in metal roofing and sheet metal installation
- Knowledge of standing seam and snap lock roofing systems
- Ability to fabricate and install metal flashing and trim details
- Ability to read tape measures and perform basic construction math
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturer installation specifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work at heights and on sloped roofs
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 50–100 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment
- Must follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
- Must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) including: Harnesses and fall protection, Hard hats, Safety glasses, Gloves, Appropriate footwear
- Must maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Must be able to pass a background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with gutters and downspout installation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience operating metal brakes and fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of waterproofing and roof penetration flashing methods
- Experience with commercial roofing systems and building envelope details
- Ability to lead small crews or train helpers/apprentices
- Welding or soldering experience
