Job Summary
Administer contracts ensuring compliance and performance while managing modifications, change orders, and claims resolution. Serve as the primary interface for commercial and contractual challenges during design progression, monitoring financial performance to identify risks and recommend corrective actions. Review invoices and deliverables for compliance, coordinate with Procurement and COTR on official contract actions, and maintain vital records for audits and grant management. Lead development of project risk registers, support dispute resolution and DRB processes, and prepare weekly performance updates for leadership. This role supports the Amtrak BPTR Program, overseeing design management processes to align business goals with project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- 8 years of experience in design management and contract administration or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Proficiency and knowledge of commercial and contractual processes in large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience managing complex contracts and resolve disputes effectively
- Proficient in articulating ideas clearly, negotiate agreements, and manage stakeholder relationships
- Experience analyzing problems, forecast risks, and implement solutions
- Experience with invoice review, audit support, and grants management
- Adherence to BPTR program policies is mandatory
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Legal or advanced commercial experience
- 15 years of experience in design management and contract administration
- Rail industry experience
- Experience with alternate project delivery methods such as CMAR, design-build or P3 on major capital programs
- Experience with infrastructure design and construction program and contract management experience with working knowledge of construction contracts, technical specifications and engineering drawing interpretations
- Experience preparing and administering change orders, Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), delay and impact claims
- Experience supporting mediation, arbitration, and dispute resolution
- Knowledgeable about federal competitive procurement processes and regulations
- Results focused and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple project team members, consultants, and contractors for specific initiatives
