Job Summary
Commercial Maintenance Technician responsible for operation, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of commercial building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life safety) to ensure safe, efficient building operations. Duties include maintaining building systems, performing repairs, documenting findings, responding to tenant service requests, coordinating with the property operations team, participating in on-call rotations and after-hours emergencies, and safely operating hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment. Must be able to read blueprints and manuals, follow safety regulations, and help with life-safety system procedures and evacuations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of four (4) years of related maintenance experience and/or trade school training
- Working knowledge of commercial plant equipment including elevators, chillers, and boilers
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, drywall repair, and carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proficiency with testing equipment such as analog and digital multimeters, pressure and temperature monitoring devices
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
