Job Summary
Represent educational institutions in Title IX investigations, hearings, and appeals while advising clients on disciplinary proceedings and institutional compliance. Conduct internal investigations into discrimination, harassment, and misconduct, then draft motions, pleadings, and appellate briefs. Manage complex litigation involving civil rights claims, defamation, and constitutional issues from inception through resolution. Participate in mediations, depositions, and court appearances, mentoring junior attorneys and collaborating across practice groups. Requires J.D., active New York Bar admission, and 6+ years of commercial litigation experience with a focus on education law and civil rights.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the New York Bar
- 6+ years of commercial litigation experience, preferably with exposure to education law, investigations, or civil rights matters
- Experience conducting or defending internal investigations and administrative proceedings
- Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and analytical skills
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters and maintain strong client relationships
- Excellent judgment when handling confidential and highly sensitive matters

- Background handling Title IX investigations and hearings
