Job Summary
Conduct insurance coverage analysis by applying rules and guidelines to execute underwriting decisions for property and casualty lines. Read, interpret, and react to policies, manuals, and endorsements to develop sound underwriting opinions based on risk analysis and financial conditions. Assemble information to clearly express decisions using reasoning and judgment while communicating effectively with independent agents. Complete the Company underwriter training program to acquire knowledge of coverages, contracts, and department procedures. Participate in a merit-based work-from-home program allowing up to three days per week after initial in-person training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty underwriting
- Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently
- Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to write reports and compose correspondence
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
