Job Summary
Directs, coordinates, and controls departmental activities concerned with extending commercial credit at a bank, including establishing lending policies, preparing activity reports, interviewing applicants to assess creditworthiness, approving loans within authority, managing large/complex commercial loan accounts, ensuring timely loan closing, and maintaining ongoing portfolio monitoring. Responsibilities also include supporting business development, calling on customers and prospects, staying informed on economic conditions, budgeting, and collaborating with senior leaders on credit risk and policy, with remote work options available in the West Springfield, MA/Greater Hartford area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, or related area
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively increasing responsible commercial lending experience
- Candidates with established networks in the greater Hartford, Connecticut region are preferred
- Strong, well-developed interpersonal skills in order to maximize business contacts and develop a working relationship with potential and current commercial loan customers
- High level of analytical skills to conduct initial commercial loan analyses and monitor the loan’s progress considering market trends, credit/interest rates, and economic conditions
- Ability to meet with current and potential customers and attend community and networking events during and outside of traditional business hours
- Valid driver’s license with sound driving record and personal transportation available
