Job Summary
Commercial Kitchen Technician (Millwright) based in Milton, Ontario. Maintain, troubleshoot, install, and repair commercial kitchen and production equipment in a regulated food production environment. Ensure compliance with CFIA, HACCP, and OHSA; apply mechanical expertise across pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems; collaborate with facilities and production teams to minimize downtime; perform preventive/corrective maintenance; read blueprints/schematics, utilize CMMS, weld/fabricate as needed; adhere to safety practices including lockout/tagout and machine guarding; read and interpret technical drawings; complete maintenance documentation. Requires Grade 12, a valid Millwright/Commercial Appliance Technician trade certificate, 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, and Advanced Food Safe or ability to obtain.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A), Commercial Appliance Technician, or other similar trade experience recognized in Ontario
- Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Proficiency with alignment tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine shop equipment
- Welding and fabrication skills (CWB certification an asset)
- Experience with CMMS platforms
- Basic electrical or automation/PLC knowledge
- Valid forklift, scissor lift and overhead crane certification are an asset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move heavy components as required (following safe work practices)
- Ability to work within a secure, regulated, and operationally complex environment
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol screening, vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances
- Advanced Food safe, or ability to acquire advanced food safe
