Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, refrigeration units, and dishwashers for high-volume arena events. Perform preventive maintenance, interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, and install new components following safety standards. Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair timelines with clients. Work independently with minimum supervision while supporting other engineering teams, including potential travel for overnight stays. This role requires experience with 480V three-phase systems and familiarity with CO2 beverage plant systems.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in appliance repair with a focus on commercial kitchen equipment or related field service roles
- Strong electrical component experience and related mechanical knowledge
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex systems
- Customer service skills that foster positive relationships with clients while providing professional support
- Knowledge of assembly processes for commercial equipment and the ability to perform equipment repairs efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to diagnosing issues quickly and effectively
- Experience with working with electricity as high as 480V 3 phase systems
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays
- Frequent bending, ability to lift 50 pounds
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years HVAC/KITCHEN repair experience
- City of Seattle Refrigeration Operators license (or acquired within 6 months of hire)
- Valid Drivers License
- Experience with large-scale events in a stadium or concert setting of a similar size (18,000 seats)
Desired Qualifications
- familiarity with refrigeration and HVAC systems
- CO2 beverage system experience
- Especially working with bulk plant systems
- Universal EPA Refrigerant is a plus
- Able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, CMMS systems, and proficient in excel
- Able to work both independently with minimum supervision and in a team atmosphere
