Job Summary
Manage commercial and industrial environmental projects to meet client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget. Lead larger-scale initiatives by overseeing subcontractors, tracking hours and expenses, and supervising employees to ensure satisfactory performance. Develop a client base by identifying additional business opportunities and conduct comprehensive investigations of air emission sources, hazardous facilities, and water resources to determine conformance with permits. Prepare technical reports and presentations explaining findings for environmental issues, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary professionals to provide future-ready solutions. Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Occasional travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or closely related discipline
- 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in the environmental services field
- Proven ability to manage and grow client accounts in the commercial / industrial sector
- Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
- Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work
- Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing technical deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity
- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with industrial user discharge permits, water quality monitoring, surface water investigations, contaminant assessment, and coordination with environmental regulatory agencies
- Experience in stormwater and surface water quality programs, including development and implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, industrial wastewater permitting, and regulatory compliance programs
- Comfortable supporting both compliance-driven programs and complex infrastructure or industrial projects involving water resource protection and environmental stewardship
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science of related field
- Essential professional licensure/certification
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120)
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
