Job Summary
Senior Commercial HVAC Technician responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, commissioning, and optimizing complex commercial HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV/VRF, make-up air units) with leadership on jobsites, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring safety and customer satisfaction. Performs advanced troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration systems; reads blueprints and control diagrams; verifies operation per manufacturer specs; conducts system balancing and airflow diagnostics; troubleshoots and tunes BAS and building automation controls; completes PMs and compliance documentation; communicates with property managers and engineers; provides repair recommendations and estimates; leads field activities and provides on-the-job training while adhering to OSHA/EPA standards and company safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- EPA Universal Certification
- OSHA-10 (minimum) preferred; OSHA-30 strongly preferred
- State HVAC license or equivalent (where required by jurisdiction)
- 7+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Demonstrated experience working independently on complex commercial systems
- Experience mentoring or leading other technicians preferred
- Technical Skills: Advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; Refrigeration diagnostics; Proficiency with test instruments; Read and interpret technical documentation and control diagrams; Ability to read blueprints and control sequences; Commissioning and balancing; Knowledge of BAS; Knowledge of HVAC controls; Ability to identify equipment deficiencies and life-cycle replacement needs
