Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, chillers, cooling towers, and hydronic equipment. Perform preventive maintenance inspections, interpret blueprints and schematics, and recommend repair or upgrade solutions to improve system performance. Communicate service options clearly to customers, maintain detailed work documentation, and ensure all tasks comply with industry codes. Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency requests and collaborate with dispatchers and managers to manage multiple service calls. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience and physical ability to work in demanding environments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues
- Experience servicing a variety of commercial HVAC equipment and systems
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls and customer priorities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications
- Must possess personal hand tools necessary to perform daily service work
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces
- Willingness to participate in an on-call service rotation
- Proven experience servicing Rooftop Units (RTUs)
- Proven experience servicing Cooling Towers
- Proven experience servicing Chillers
- Proven experience servicing Heat Pumps
- Proven experience servicing Commercial Air Conditioning Systems
- Proven experience servicing Hydronic Systems
- Proven experience servicing Geothermal Systems
- Proven experience servicing Gas Furnaces and Boilers
- Proven experience servicing Oil Furnaces and Boilers
- Strong understanding of HVAC system operation, controls, and diagnostics
- EPA Certification
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and customer-focused attitude
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
