Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose repairs, and execute service contract work on commercial HVAC systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and refrigerant handling. Independently determine parts needs, troubleshoot using digital multimeters and gauges, and operate torch and braze equipment for piping. Report detailed job information to supervisors and submit paperwork to service coordinators while advising owners on corrective actions. Travel daily for out-of-town projects and manufacturer training, working in diverse field conditions including elevated heights and extreme weather. Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial HVAC environment
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must be a minimum of 25 years of age for insurance purposes
- Must have current HVAC certification
- Must have OSHA 10 Training
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
- Advanced skill level performing Electrical inspections, startups, repairs and service contract maintenance
- Experienced with multiple manufacturer software systems (i.e. ABB, Wattmaster, MCS, Trane, Carrier, JCI)
- Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to travel for out-of-town projects and training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic HVAC maintenance including filter changes, coil cleaning and chiller tube brushing
- Ability to use digital multimeters, refrigerant gauges etc. for troubleshooting all types of HVAC Equipment
- Ability to operate refrigerant handling/recovery equipment
- Ability to operate torch and braze refrigerant piping/components
- Ability to accurately report detailed information to Supervisor
- Willingness to travel for both service and manufacturer training
- Ability to advise owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
- Ability to suggest additional services that are beneficial to customer
- Ability to work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Ability to submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
- Ability to work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times
- Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.
