Job Summary
Commercial HVAC Service Technician responsible for installing, servicing, diagnosing, and starting up a range of HVAC systems (VRF, rooftop, packaged) with focus on fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and system optimization. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues, maintaining strong customer relationships, documenting service reports and work orders, ensuring safe operation, mentoring junior technicians, and participating in on-call after-hours support. Requires EPA Universal Certification, 5-7 years of experience with commercial HVAC systems, valid driver’s license, ability to lift heavy equipment, and willingness to travel/seasonal on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of commercial HVAC service experience with systems such as VRF, rooftop units, and packaged equipment
- EPA Universal Certification required; OEM-specific training or certifications preferred
- Strong diagnostics, troubleshooting, and ability to interpret service manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various field conditions including rooftops and tight spaces
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service coverage
