Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs while troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control system issues. Read blueprints and schematics to service walk-in coolers, ice machines, and building automation systems. Handle refrigerant leaks and compressor failures in compliance with EPA regulations. Verify system performance using diagnostic tools and identify efficiency opportunities. Communicate repair options to customers and complete service tickets and inspection reports accurately. Maintain professional conduct on job sites and follow OSHA and company safety protocols. Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC/R service experience
- EPA Section 608 Certification [universal preferred]
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in confined spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions
- Journeyman or Master HVAC license [state or local, where applicable]
- Experience with chillers, boilers, and/or BAS controls
- Electrical troubleshooting beyond basic component replacement
- Factory training or OEM certifications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with BuildOps, Housecall Pro, or Service Titan [a plus]
